From A Long-Held Dream To A Licensed Financial Institution
Peter J. Mwakyusa and his wife, Mary B. Dittu, founded Sombyo Financial Services Company Ltd with the goal of providing microloan services to entrepreneurs, individuals and public servants in Tanzania.
The idea began as a long-held dream for Peter, dating back about thirteen years. Through hard work and determination, that dream became reality in 2025 when Sombyo was officially registered and obtained all the necessary licenses to operate in accordance with the law.
Peter holds an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA, 2010) and a Master of Science in Finance and Investment from the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA, 2024) — qualifications that have played a significant role in founding and managing the company.
To provide accessible financial services, with a focus on microfinance, to empower individuals, micro and small enterprises, and communities in Tanzania, fostering sustainable economic growth and development.
